Fostering equality and diversity

The JSE supports the country’s transformation objectives and is committed to becoming demographically representative in knowledge, skills and experience, race, gender and disability, while redressing historical inequality. We have an employment equity policy that aims to eliminate unfair discrimination.

We conduct mandatory diversity, inclusion, equality and belonging workshops and training sessions for employees and specific ones for our leadership group. The training and workshops aim to facilitate discussion and a shared understanding of diversity and the JSE’s transformation priorities. Our employment equity policy and gender-based violence policy aim to encourage fairness and equality and denounce discrimination across all demographics and groups in our organisation.

I started working at the JSE in 2009 and had a brief break in service for 2 months in 2018. During my time here, I have filled a few roles in the IT space and I am now the Client Service Manager at the CSC. My experience at the JSE has been one of family and togetherness and it is for this main reason that I choose to stay at the JSE and that is what makes them the Employer of Choice. The JSE strives to develop its staff and offers study bursaries as well as various other Learning and Development opportunities.

The JSE has over the last few years done an amazing job to support staff and their families through the pandemic and their hybrid working policy still allows us to have work/life balance while working in the comfort of our homes. The newly revamped office spaces and state of the are technology is another way that the JSE strives to ensure that staff are happy and safe when they at the office.

There are so many perks that we often take for granted, like the Nespresso coffee's, the gym, the wellness days and awareness programs and not to mention the pamper sessions to help destress.

My overall experience at the JSE is one filled with gratitude and learning and I look forward to the years ahead, helping others grow and making memories with my work family and friends.
